# 6. Narrative Fit

## Narrative Fit

### What to Evaluate

In crypto, narratives drive visibility, funding, and community adoption.\
A project that fits a trending or emerging narrative can grow faster, even if its fundamentals aren’t perfect.\
The goal is to score whether the project aligns with **what the market cares about right now**.

***

#### 🧭 Narrative Alignment

* Does the project clearly tie into a known macro trend?
  * Examples: Restaking, Modular Blockchains, DePIN, RWAs, ZK, AI x Crypto, ETH L2s, Account Abstraction
* Or is it working on a **narrative that’s likely to emerge** soon?
* Is the positioning clear on their homepage, docs, and Twitter?

**Scoring:**

* ✅ Narrative match is obvious and timely = high
* 🟡 Weak positioning or late to the trend = mid
* ❌ Completely outside market attention = low

***

#### 🔮 Anticipation vs. Saturation

* Is the project ahead of the curve or just chasing last cycle’s hype?
* Are they entering a narrative **before** it explodes?

> Example: Projects building in the modular chain space pre-2023 had time to build. Those launching late in saturated verticals (like NFT marketplaces in 2021) struggle.

**Scoring:**

* ✅ Building early in high-conviction sectors = higher score
* ❌ Launching late in overdone vertical = lower score

***

#### 🔗 Ecosystem Fit

* Is the project part of a **larger story** (like EigenLayer, Celestia, Base, Solana)?
* Does it naturally extend what other protocols are doing?
* Do the top chains or VCs **back the same narrative**?

**Scoring:**

* ✅ Clear integration with a rising ecosystem = strong narrative synergy
* ❌ Standalone project with no connections = weak positioning

***

#### 🔊 Marketing and Messaging

* Does the team use narrative-driven language across channels?
* Are they active in narrative-relevant convos on Twitter, Telegram, Spaces, etc.?

**Scoring:**

* ✅ Narrative-driven brand + thought leadership = bonus
* ❌ No messaging clarity, or confusing value prop = deduction

***

### Summary of Scoring

**Score higher if:**

* The project is well-positioned within a current or soon-to-be-hot narrative
* It stands out or leads within its niche
* Messaging, team presence, and integrations align with the story

**Score lower if:**

* Project feels outdated or generic
* Positioning is unclear or off-mark
* Narrative is oversaturated or collapsing
